Hope and Evergreens

Oh, the beauty of an evergreen tree, powdered by snow, standing majestically in winter's cold!
God gave special adaptations to evergreen trees. Their waxy needles are able to retain moisture and withstand icy, windy conditions. Since the needles don't fall off, throughout winter, the trees continue the life-giving process of photosynthesis. Freezing snow becomes a blanket that warms their roots. Winter weather is not frightful for evergreens .
The amazing qualities we observe in evergreen trees are reminders of some of the incredible qualities the Lord possesses. He is ever green, never changing. He is strong and mighty. We can rely upon Him to help us through any challenge we face no matter the season.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by the season that promises to bring joy? Is anxiety depleting your sense of peace? Take a moment to ponder the evergreen tree. It's a symbol of hope, reminding us we can survive the chaos and stress of the holidays. Just as God gives evergreens special adaptations to withstand the elements of winter, He gives us a special adaptation to withstand the pressures of life. Our adaptation is to rely upon God.
When it seems as though the world is whirling with holiday expectations and demands, we will survive by looking to the One who is mightier than an evergreen tree. We will thrive by keeping our minds focused on Jesus. He is the ever green, unchanging hope of the season.
